St Patrick's College Townsville is ideally located on Townsville's Strand beachfront.

Our ocean-front campus offers an intimate environment where young women can explore the many academic, cultural and sporting opportunities available to them. Our state-of-the-art facilities and purpose built teaching and learning spaces are set amongst lush, tropical gardens.

Our East Precinct

Our state-of-the-art East Precinct, designed by award-winning firm M3 Architecture, opened in 2020 and overlooks The Strand where the College was first established in 1878.

The contemporary performing arts, library and learning precinct brings our mission to life, to continue the 142-year-old tradition of nurturing excellence in learning.

Featuring functional and unique learning spaces, the three-storey building boasts cutting-edge technology and innovation, designed to promote curiosity, creativity and collaboration.

INSIDE THE PRECINCT

• An 800-seat multi-purpose auditorium space to gather and celebrate with surrounding outdoor gardens and performance areas.

• Performing arts learning spaces including a dance studio, drama theatre, green room, acoustically engineered recording studio and band practice room, specialty instrumental music studios and music learning spaces.

• An expansive and beautiful library space incorporating study lounge areas, small and large group collaborative spaces, classrooms and all of the necessary technology to enhance learning and inspire critical thinking.

• A contemporary hospitality kitchen, servery and foyer function space, providing students with industry-standard facilities to develop and put into practice their culinary skills and knowledge.

The filigree lace veil on the exterior of the building resembles Irish lace, embossed with three symbols – the shamrock, the Mercy rose and the Mercy cross.

This pays homage to the Irish Sisters of Mercy who established the college in 1878 and who transferred the ownership of the building site to the College two years ago. 

The innovative building stands alongside the College's heritage-listed convent, presenting a symbolic picture representative of our college's rich history and future-focused outlook.
