120 YEAR CELEBRATIONS

In 2025, St Patrick’s College Townsville proudly celebrated 120 years of educating and empowering young women. The College is inspired by Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, who dared to imagine a brighter future for women hundreds of years ago. Thousands of girls walked through the gates, and the College remains dedicated to providing a quality education in the Mercy tradition.
In June, we warmly invited guests to join us for a weekend-long celebration with alumni, staff, friends and the wider College community. We were thrilled to share our rich history through videos, gifts, guest speakers and special events while celebrating this incredible milestone together. The celebrations included Welcome Drinks and Campus Tours, a Gala Dinner, and a High Tea.
At the heart of this extraordinary weekend was friendship — the kind that lasts a lifetime. The enduring bond between our students, their lifelong friends, and the Sisters was something truly unique and deeply cherished. This community was like no other, and these celebrations will remain close to our hearts for many years to come.

Acknowledgement of Country: We give thanks and respectfully acknowledge the Wulgurukaba people, the Traditional Custodians of this beautiful country whose land our College shares. We recognise their ongoing deep spiritual connection to this Country, and the care they gave for thousands of years. We also acknowledge the Bindal people as the neighbouring Custodians of their Country. We pay our respects to the Elders, past, present and emerging and extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples here today.
