Welcome to Boarding
Boarding at the College
St Patrick’s College Townsville has been providing boarding services to the community for over 100 years. Boarders are supported in a highly caring and nurturing environment, whilst at the same time being encouraged to develop their autonomy in areas related to:
- Personal living
- Learning
- Engaging with others
The Residential Program is underscored by ‘Positive Behaviours for Learning and Life’ and students are encouraged to ensure they meet high standards both in relation to dorm life, and in relation to academic and extra-curricular involvement. Boarders attend day school from 8.15am – 3.15pm. After school, they meet as a community before being supported in study and homework sessions until 5.30 p.m.
Boarders are encouraged to cast a wide net, involving themselves in a wide range of extra-curricular endeavours from Rugby League, to Rowing, to Swimming and Life Saving. Many of our Boarders also participate enthusiastically in cultural dance performances, which feature in most College community events. There is always something to do for Boarders at St Patrick’s, Townsville.

Acknowledgement of Country: We give thanks and respectfully acknowledge the Wulgurukaba people, the Traditional Custodians of this beautiful country whose land our College shares. We recognise their ongoing deep spiritual connection to this Country, and the care they gave for thousands of years. We also acknowledge the Bindal people as the neighbouring Custodians of their Country. We pay our respects to the Elders, past, present and emerging and extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples here today.
