College Social Media & Media Consent
We have an active social media community at St Patrick's College Townsville and invite all parents and families to join in.
Our Facebook community is a great way to keep up to date with news and events and of course, during the cyclone season, our social media sites will be used for updates where necessary. Our Instagram feed is growing in popularity; we love celebrating our students' success with the wider community.
Visit our home page for links to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. We look forward to welcoming you to our online community.
Please refer below to our Media Consent for information regarding the use of images on social media and wider promotional materials.
St Patrick’s College Townsville promotes the College and the achievements of students through the use of social, online, digital and traditional media as well as in publications, signage and other promotional materials. As such, students may be photographed or filmed for inclusion in these marketing activities or named for other content purposes such as social media posts, media stories or articles. Approved College images or stories containing information about student achievements and activities may also be provided to media and other relevant Catholic and educational organisations for promotional purposes, such as Townsville Catholic Education Office, the Townsville Catholic Diocesan Office, Queensland Catholic Education Commission and the National Catholic Education Commission (etc).
Parents/guardians are asked to complete the Media Consent section in the Enrolment Application Form, either giving or declining consent. Declining to consent to media will take effect from the date of enrolment. This will be recorded in the student’s enrolment records and all necessary action will be taken (where possible and feasible) to ensure the child is not included in any promotional images or content on any platform. This will remain until otherwise notified by the parent/carer.
*Please note, in instances of significant/prominent marketing activity (eg: billboard), parents/guardians would be consulted, even though the student involved has Media Consent.

Acknowledgement of Country: We give thanks and respectfully acknowledge the Wulgurukaba people, the Traditional Custodians of this beautiful country whose land our College shares. We recognise their ongoing deep spiritual connection to this Country, and the care they gave for thousands of years. We also acknowledge the Bindal people as the neighbouring Custodians of their Country. We pay our respects to the Elders, past, present and emerging and extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples here today.
