Sue Rheinberger
Humanities Faculty
Sue has been a welcoming face at St Patrick’s College Townsville for more than 30 years. A dedicated teacher of English, Geography, History and Legal Studies, she is a wealth of knowledge and has nurtured and educated thousands of young women. An advocate of learning about the world out in the world, Sue loves to organise local, North Queensland and international excursions to actively encourage students to participate as local and global citizens. She believes that all students should strive to be ‘unashamedly excellent’ both in the classroom and beyond, and has been instrumental in countless extracurricular activities including Rock Eisteddfod, Optiminds, Lions Youth of the Year, Rostrum and the Reef Guardian Program, just to name a few. A keen traveller and lover of nature, Sue has trekked many of the world’s landscapes, climbed volcanoes in Japan and helped revegetate tropical rainforests. In her quieter moments, she loves music, movies, theatre, reading, gardening and family life.

Acknowledgement of Country: We give thanks and respectfully acknowledge the Wulgurukaba people, the Traditional Custodians of this beautiful country whose land our College shares. We recognise their ongoing deep spiritual connection to this Country, and the care they gave for thousands of years. We also acknowledge the Bindal people as the neighbouring Custodians of their Country. We pay our respects to the Elders, past, present and emerging and extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples here today.
